Acoustic Lab
The technical equipment of the Acoustic Lab enables measurements to be carried out on components subjected to combined loads. Using electrodynamic shakers, components can be subjected to frequency-selective loads up to a frequency of 5 kHz in addition to their static/dynamic operating load. The Acoustic Lab is equipped with extensive state-of-the-art measuring equipment:
- 3 modal shakers (1 kN, 200 N, 10 N)
- Rotary laser vibrometer
- Fine balancing device with analysis functions
- Intensity measuring probe
- Free-field measuring microphones
- Extensive range of vibration transducers
- CAE Intensity Inspector for sound source localization
We also have a low-noise measuring room at the IMW. Common analysis methods are available for the machine acoustic assessment of machine structures:
- Sound power determination according to DIN EN ISO 3744, DIN EN ISO 3745, DIN EN ISO 9614-1 and -2
- Experimental modal analysis
- Acoustic resonance analysis for component diagnosis
